The Queen's Guide: 5 essential steps to radiant skin

As a cosmetologist and spa owner, I have had the privilege of touching thousands of faces and performing countless treatments. Over the years, I have learned to read the skin like a book. It tells you a lot-it reveals secrets about your lifestyle, diet and even skin care.

I can tell if you're using retinoids, or if you've had Botox, fillers or surgery. But the first thing I always notice is: Do you have the right skin care routine? Are you using the right products in the correct way?

This is where so many people make mistakes. You can spend a fortune on cosmetics, but if you don't use them properly, you won't discover their true potential. That's why they call me the “Queen of Skin Care.” I have taught thousands of people-celebrities, beauty journalists, influencers, cosmetologists and many others-how to master the art of skin care with five essential steps. These steps are indispensable if you want healthy, radiant skin.

1. Two-step cleansing

Every skin care ritual begins with proper cleansing. Double cleansing with a cleansing lotion (such as Cerabalm face lotion) is a game changer. It dissolves makeup, SPF and impurities without drying out the skin. Don't forget to use a washcloth - it's your secret weapon for gentle exfoliation and deeper cleansing.

2. Toner: technique matters

Toner is not just a product to splash on your face. It's a key step that prepares your skin for the next steps in skin care. Put the toner on a cotton pad and apply it in an upward motion, lifting the skin. Do it with care-each movement should resemble a mini massage. And please, no spraying or splashing (sorry TikTok trends!). Tonics usually contain active ingredients, so applying them near the eyes or inhaling them is not recommended.

3. Serum: twice a day, with caution

Face serum is the step where the magic happens. Apply them twice a day and take a holistic approach to address your skin's needs. If you use retinoids, remember that less is more - three times a week is enough to see results, but without overdoing it.

4. Eye cream: a lifelong essential

I started using eye cream at the age of 16 and it has been an absolute necessity ever since. The delicate skin around the eyes needs extra care to stay moisturized, firm and youthful. Don't underestimate the power of this simple step - it is the foundation of lasting beauty.

5. Moisturizing cream for all skin types

Yes, even oily skin needs a moisturizing cream. It speeds up the recovery process, balances sebum production and retains moisture. Skipping this step can weaken the skin barrier, leading to hypersensitivity and pimples.

Choose wisely: what you put on your skin matters

Your skin is your largest organ, and what you put on it has a direct impact. Choose clean, effective formulas - without fragrances, silicones or dyes. These additives can accumulate over time, causing hypersensitivity, allergies or pimples. Treat your skin with respect - it is a reflection of your health and self-care.
