The 5 most common home care mistakes

Home care is the foundation of healthy and balanced skin. Even the best in-office treatments will not produce the desired results if there are deficiencies in your daily routine. We often unknowingly harm our skin by making mistakes in our morning or evening care. Here are the 5 most common mistakes:

1. Inaccurate skin cleansing

Using overly aggressive products or skipping the two-step facial cleansing, leads to clogged pores, formation of blackheads, excessive dryness, dehydration or irritation. Remember that proper cleansing is the foundation of healthy skin. Instead of using drying foams or soaps, choose a gentle facial cleansing lotion that will help effectively remove impurities without compromising the skin's hydrolipid barrier. I recommend my clients to use Cerabalm cleansing lotion. It is ideal for all skin types, and it perfectly dissolves makeup, sebum and all impurities. Well-cleansed skin will better absorb serums, creams or other skin care products. It is very important to perform a gentle massage while cleansing the skin, which promotes lymphatic drainage and stimulates microcirculation.

2. Using too many products

In the pursuit of beautiful skin, it is easy to fall into the trap of applying many products with different active ingredients. Mixing too many products can lead to dryness, irritation or even pimples, so minimalism and consistency in skin care are important. It's a good idea to focus on those ingredients that address your skin's needs. Opt for regularity and introduce new ingredients gradually.

3. Inadequate application of cosmetics

The correct cosmetic is extremely important, but the method of applying the product is equally important. Some of them, in order to work properly, must be properly massaged into the skin, or patted in, so that the active ingredients are better absorbed and work more effectively. It is important to always remember to use lifting motions with each step of our skin care routine. Products should be gently patted or massaged in. Remember not to apply too much product, the excess can weigh down the skin, resulting in clogged pores or pimples.

4. Too frequent exfoliation

Exfoliation is one of the key steps in home care, it helps remove dead skin cells, smoothens and allows better absorption of active ingredients. However, remember not to exfoliate too often or too aggressively, as this can lead to weakening of the hydrolipid barrier. Too frequent use of scrubs can lead to an increase in sebum production, making the skin oily and creating imperfections. Too aggressive removal of dead skin can also result in irritation, redness of the skin and increased sensitivity to the sun. Use an effective but gentle Exfoligold peel to promote cell renewal and gently exfoliate, while moisturizing, restoring the skin's radiance without compromising the hydrolipid barrier. Don't skip daily exfoliation either. This is where D22 Tonic will come to the rescue. A gentle tonic based on acids and birch water that day after day brightens the skin, unclogs pores while smoothing it.

5. Skipping neck and décolleté care

We treat the skin on the neck and décolleté in the same way we treat the skin on the face. Starting with cleansing, toning, creams, serums or masks, and sun protection. Let's not wait for the first signs of aging to appear. Lack of care for this rather sensitive area, very quickly leads to the appearance of wrinkles and loss of firmness. If you use moisturizing products for daily skin care, which smooth and firm, you can confidently use these cosmetics also on the neck and décolleté.

Avoiding the above mistakes will result in healthy, radiant skin. Remember to make a conscious choice of products. Ensure, above all, thorough cleansing, moderation in the use of cosmetics and proper technique. It is our daily routine and making the right choices that will have the greatest impact on the appearance and health of our skin.
